Special Eid Duas

Eid Takbeerat
اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ لَا اِلَهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ اَكْبَرُ اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ وَلِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ
"Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa lillahil Hamd."
To be recited while going to the Eid prayer and throughout the day.
Prayer for Acceptance
تَقَبَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكُمْ
"Taqabbalallahu Minna Wa Minkum"
"May Allah accept [good deeds] from us and from you." — This is the traditional greeting companions of the Prophet (PBUH) used on Eid.
How to Perform Eid Prayer
A quick guide to the Sunnah method of the special two-rak'ah prayer.
Niyyah (Intention)
Intend for 2 Rak'ahs of Eid-ul-Fitr prayer with 6 additional Takbeers.
First Rak'ah Takbeers
After the opening Takbeer and Thana, say 'Allahu Akbar' 3 times, raising hands each time.
Recitation
Listen to Surah Fatiha and another Surah, then continue to Ruku and Sujud.
Second Rak'ah Takbeers
After reciting Surahs, say 'Allahu Akbar' 3 times BEFORE going to Ruku.
Completion
Complete the prayer and stay for the Khutbah (sermon), which is Sunnah.
Sunnah of Eid Day
- Wake up early for Fajr prayer.
- Perform Ghusl (ritual bath) before going to prayer.
- Wear your best and cleanest clothes.
- Eat something sweet (usually dates) before Eid prayer.
- Go to the prayer ground via one route and return via another.
- Give Sadaqat-ul-Fitr BEFORE the prayer.
